Howdy boils and goils!
I’m very pleased to confirm that the wonderful Edinburgh live night and independent CD promotion behemoth, Secret CDs, have kindly invited me back to perform for a 3rd time (lookit on Facebook).
Here’s a video from my previous attendance…
Come along to The Voodoo Rooms, 19a West Register Street, Edinburgh on Wednesday December 4th from 7:30pm. £3 on the door. There’ll also be fantastic music from…
* Dog On A Swing
* Iona Marshall
* Lorraine McCauley & The Borderlands
This will be my last gig of 2013, and I’ll be taking the opportunity to preview a number of new songs fresh from my pen.
It may also be the last opportunity to pick up a handmade CD version of ‘Like Lovers‘ and ‘In My Hands‘, as I’m hoping to move onto bigger and better things…
For now though, here’s a reminder of my first Secret CDs outing. Come along on December 4th to enjoy my string plucking and mouth words

It’s podcast time!
The main reason for podcast #7 is to make sure plenty of people know about, and attend, a gig I’m on the bill for with Errant Boy and Collar Up.
It’s taking place on Saturday October 5th at the Wee Red Bar in the Edinburgh College of Art on Lauriston Place. Doors from 7pm, £5 in. Here’s the Facebook event.
Podcast fans will remember Collar Up from episode #4 when lead vocalist and pianist Stephen McLaren talked to me about busking.
The podcast was also a great excuse to finally have a conversation with the wonderful Simon Herron, ahead of his second EP release, about songwriting.
Recent evidence of Simon, live in action!
There’s also an album track from my recent album, Like Lovers, so please listen, enjoy and share (and check out the podcast on iTunes)…
This podcast featured music from…
Simon Herron – www.simonherron.com
Collar Up – www.permwhalerecordings.bandcamp.com
Note: Express consent was received from each band before they were included.
This podcast also mentions…
Errant Boy – (if someone can point me to a website, I’ll update this!)
Wee Red Bar – www.weeredbar.co.uk

Good day ladies & gents!
I was very humbled and honoured to recently have my music used in a short film by Neil Rolland of Edinburgh-based production company Coal Face Films.
The film, entitled ‘The Traveller’ was originally produced for the 48 Hour Film Project that takes place annually in Edinburgh.
I was lucky enough to have my music used in the film’s trailer as well!
The sharp eared amongst you will recognise the track as ‘Through The Trees’, the intro to my 5th LP album ‘In My Hands‘.
It was a pleasure to attend the 48 Hour Film Project screening at The Cameo cinema in Edinburgh, and quite an experience to hear my music pumped into the historic screening room.
Here’s the final cut of the film, in all its glory…
Here’s a photo of Neil and his fellow 48 Hour Film Project creators at The Cameo screening…

‘The Traveller’ also includes music from the following Scottish musicians…
The Scottish Enlightenment
I’d like to say a huge thank you to Neil for including my music in ‘The Traveller’ and hope he goes on to great success with it and his future projects.
