Movember – Part 3

Movember 30th is here – part 3!!!

Believe it or not, it’s been hard to overcome my aversion to shaving in order to keep my face bristle free, thus allowing my moustache to flourish. But, 30 days later the results speak for themselves…

Movember Day 30

I’ve had so much help and support along the way, I can’t say thank you enough for helping me raise a fantastic £200 for men’s health!

Thanks to all the people, blogs and podcasts who spread the word about my efforts, and a huge thanks to everyone who sponsored me. It’s because of you that I’ve been able to raise this amount of money for a charitable cause that means a lot to me.

If you donated, you’ll all have received your “mo” song by email. I hope it serves as a suitable reward!

As far as I’m aware, you can still donate should you wish to at mobro.co/arranarctic. I’ll be keeping an eye out for any late donations in order to keep track of any latecomers who are due to receive the “mo” song.

If, however, you do donate and I’m not in touch within a few days, just get in touch via the email address listed on the About page.

Thanks again everyone. It’s been wild!

Movember – Part 2

Hi there, you’ve made it to Movember – part 2!

If you’re still in the dark regarding Movember and where donations are directed, see uk.movember.com/about/ or alternatively, see my previous Movember post.

A lot of people have been asking about what my particular condition, varicocele veins, actually involve. Here’s an FAQ on the condition and a process called embolization that can be used to treat it (which I’ve undergone twice, and had botched once – thank you NHS!).

Woooooooow, we’re halfway there! Ahem. Yes, it is indeed November 15th, which finds me halfway through my Movember quest.

I’m very pleased to report that so far I’ve raised £80 for men’s health, which is absolutely fantastic. Thank you so much to everyone who’s sponsored me so far.

Musical Moustache Notes

I’m still taking donations at mobro.co/arranarctic, so if you want to get involved and receive the donor exclusive ”mo” song on November 30th, you’ve still got time!

I’m keeping up my photo a day at my “mo space”. Here’s how things are shaping up on day 15…

Movember Day 15

I’d like to say a huge thank you to the following blogs and podcasts who have helped me reach this point by donating or spreading the word about my efforts…

Geek Pop, Flyswatter, Last Year’s Girl, Radar Scotsman and Jockrock.
Thank you also to everyone who’s tweeted on Twitter and shared on Facebook ;)

Movember – Part 1

Hello one and all, and welcome to Movember!

Movember Logo

Throughout the month of November, men across the globe shave their faces and chart the fuzzy growth atop their lips via their dedicated “mo space”, all the while taking donations in aid of men’s health. Specifically, prostate and testicular cancer.

It’s surprising how many things can go wrong with the modern gentleman’s nether regions. I myself am afflicted with a varicocele vein, for which I’ve had to undergo two very unpleasant procedures in the past.

Even to this day, I still struggle with the condition, so raising funds and awareness in aid of men’s health is very important to me.

Thus, I’m proud to announce that this year, I’ll be taking part in Movember by becoming a “Mo Bro” and taking donations at mobro.co/arranarctic.

Those of you who know me can confirm that I rarely travel fresh faced, and am rather fond of my face fuzz. So maintaining my trimmed features will certainly be a challenge!

But my challenge doesn’t end there! Further to collecting donations, I’ll be writing and recording a “mo” themed song and, on November 30th, emailing it exclusively to everyone who donates at mobro.co/arranarctic.

I’ll also be documenting my progress by posting a photo everyday at my “mo space”, so you can see how me (and my moustache) are getting on.

I really hope that you can support me in my “mo bro” quest by donating (even a small amount) and sending me “mo” themed lyric suggestions below, and at Facebook and Twitter for the donor exclusive Movember song.

And so, without further ado, Movember is go!
